Left side door lock
I finally got the body sanded down ready for paint, what a job. When I took the windows out to remove the sport mirrors and the door latches I also removed the outside door locks. On the drivers side door lock it has two electric switches ,one is inline with the key and the other is riveted to the lock retainer clip. I would like to know what they are for and where do I get replacements. I have looked at a few corvette parts houses and don't see any.
Also I have an L82 with the Q jet carb. looks all original but I don't see an adjustment for fast idle when the choke is closed. Now when I start it the idle is not high enough to keep it running.
Thanks,Pete

Early 77's had their alarm switch in the front fender. Late 77's eliminated this and combined the alarm switch with the driver's door lock. This combination continued on in 78 up C3's.

Pete, The inline switch arms and disarms the anti theft system.
The other one is switch that will sound the alarm if
the lock cylinder was tampered with. If it was removed the black button would pop out and make the connection to sound the alarm, if armed.
If interested I have a GM one. You can have it what I payed for it.... 25.00 plus shipping. Also remember these were not used on only vettes, so if searching look at other GM cars. No need to pay the vette "tax" .
Good luck.
Edit: Found this one on ebay

You MUST ( or should be) careful when removing the switch that is on the lock cylinder itself. There is a special plastic part on the inside of it that goes on the shaft of the lock cylinder. DO NOT loose this part IF it comes out of the switch. That is IF you are worried about using the facotry alarm. which...honestly does nothing but make noise and run the battery down in that year model.
AS for your FAST IDLE...it is on the right side of the carb...you can see the flat blade headed screw from the front looking towards the rear...and it is down low. Thread it IN and it will increase your fast idle. This screw head is really close to the baseplate...and kinda hard to see....and somewhat at gasket level of the carb. And it is on the primaries...not the secondaries.
if this did not make sense.....GOOGLE a photo of a fast idle adjustment on a Quadrajet...maybe there is photo someone posted that will show you.

If I remember, the fast idle is on the opposite side of the throttle shaft as is the regular idle adjust screw. It's kind of hiding below the secondary rod/choke pull off vacuum can.
