Air blows, but no heat, why?
My AC and all the vents on the different settings work fine. AC is nice and cold.
Any setting I try I just get cold air, no heat.
The heater hoses going to the heater box are HOT.
Help.
Thanks!
89 coupe, thanks!

I have an 89 as well & mine actually has a small valve that you use to turn off & on because you don't want it in open position during warmer months. I have to remember to turn that valve on in the winter in order to get hot air blowing. Sure hope this helps!!

Pull the motor speed control off (top of A/C box under hood) and shine a flashlight in the hole while the heat is on. If you see the A/C evaporator and not the heater core, there's your problem.

Do you have a C60 HVAC system (sliders for controlling function and hot-cold) or C68 HVAC system (digital temperature display)?
The answer to your question depends on which system you have.

Another possibility is that your heater core is clogged. Mine was on my 95. When I changed my water pump I used a garden hose and was able to flush the core out, it took a while to accomplish. After that I had plenty of heat, before that I had the same symptoms as you, no heat and the heater hoses were scorching hot. Just a thought. Good luck

Take the BCM (Blower Control Module) out of the evaporator housing. Set the temperature on the HVAC control panel to 90°. The temperature blend door should look like this:
If it doesn't then you might have a problem in the HVAC programmer or the blend door linkage.

Subscribing to this. Having similar issues...air gets warm but not until the 80deg mark is hit on the digital. Anything less than that and it blows cold...let us know what you find.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the great advice. I tried flushing the heater core and still I got no heat. I have not opened the box, honestly I am afraid to break something. The AC works great and since I only drive it in the nice weather I am ok with this issue.
Again, thanks as always for the help.
