Default 383 high comp street tune

Hi. I have been doing some mods on my 383 lt1 and will try it out on the street tonight.

The idea is to test that everything is in order and then take it to the dyno for a proper tune. What timing advance would you recommend to be on a "safe" side during this test?

The Engine is a Lt1 383ci 12:1 CR
*AFR eliminator 195cc heads
*SRP pistons
*Scat 9000 crank
*Compstar 6" rods w, arp-2000
*Intake is a modified single plane with a homemade plenum and 4" thottle body
*Fully sequential injection and MSD ignition running on E85.
Camshaft is custom grind solid roller 278/286 ( 248/254 ) .621/.607-108LSA.

I was thinking of running 36-38deg timing on light load and then take it down to 20deg on WOT to be safe. What do you think? More? less?

Thanks.
/Svante.

you mentioned sequential you must have a 94 - 95
injector Lbs?
I needed to taper down my timing downward 36 -34 especially in the 4.5K RPM & upward 41 is my max constant.

with 11:+ similar 195 converted SBC heads with a 1206 race ports holley stealth ram converted to 1206 LE 236 grind.
I removed about 20 points throughout the VE table due to this cam is not efficient per cylinder like a smooth OE or a slight cam upgrade.
it took serious tuning to properly run. I have 50 Lbs injectors set to 47 Lbs data logs show 70% duty cycle. I would highly suggest you data log with data master or similar to record pre start, idle, rev, drive, and so on. this info is extremely valuable.

Hi i actually tried out 160lb injectors for the moment. The ecu is a Autronic sm4 and i simply love it. No problem to have a smooth idle at 1.0 lambda 8-900rpms with this cam. I set the timing to 39-40deg on light load and 34-35deg on WOT. I'm happy how it runs and leave the rest to the dyno guy.

Thanks for the reply.

Light load will be around low 40's and wot will be around 30. 20 is too low
