Broken Exhaust Manifold Stud, Heli Coil Size?
Well, after repeatedly soaking all the stock exhaust manifold studs with WD-40 on an 86 L98, one had frozen up. I did break off the stud. Not bad I guess, for a 19 year old car with 70k on them.
If I have to drill it out and use a Heli Coil to replace the threads, does anyone know what size or part number I need from Heli Coil?
These are the 3 studs per side that hold the manifold and front Y-pipe together. This probably happens too often.

WD40 is not the best lube to release frozen bots or nuts I use PB and am pleased but there are others(Liquid Wrench etc) that are much better than WD40.In fact WD40 is about useless to me only good for temporay lube as it dries up. Can't help you with the helicoil but try some PB heat it up and easy out it.
