Need Help on Calculating DCR/Gasket Thickness on LT1 Voodoo 219/227 60121 Cam????
Hi, I tried figuring DCR on the Lunati 60121 219/227 cam on Wallace Racing Calc & I think I'm coming up with a Wrong Number because of the advance built into it......could someone enlighten me to the DCR as is & if I could get away with a thinner Gasket using this cam? It is a Stock 1996 F-Body LT-1 with 10.4 Rated Compression. Here are the Specs of the Cam;
Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 270/278
Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 219/227
Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .515/.530
LSA/ICL: 112/106
Valve Lash (Int/Exh): Hyd/Hyd
RPM Range: 1800-6000
Includes: Cam Only
Part Number: 20080721
Previous Part Number: 60121
Here is the Cam Card;

54CC Heads, .051 Gasket
I really only want to do Headers & Cam with Gasket Change if Advisable, Injectors if necessary. The Car is a Stock Firebird LT1 with 6 Speed, Ram Air, 3.42 Gears & SLP 2 out the Left Exhaust. Thanks very much! Tim

Your dynamic compression with the stock compression of 10.4 with that cam installed at 106 ICL is 7.71 which is fine. If you run a .032 head gasket your static compression will be 10.96 and your dynamic will be 8.12 which is fine. The thinner the gasket the better until you down to .04 total clearances from the head to the piston.
