I put in a MSD Digital 6plus. I don't think I can tell any difference in the power. The biggest advantage is that now I have a rev limiter.

Improved throttle response, plus pulls a little harder beyond the 4200 mark - '85 4+3. :steering: :seeya

I instaled MSD ignition on my vett and like the performance I got. You will notice more when wide open throttle. The hardest part is finding a place to mount. I would suggest getting a good set of plug wires and a MSD coil.

Have an MSD Digital 6+. Didn't 'feel' any different at all compared to normal ignition stuff. Idled a little bit smoother. I like having 2-stage rev limit and timing retard though. :)

I have the Dig6+ box, the Blaster coil and the 8.5 wires. Seems to idle better, and pull better up high, but that could just be my imagination. I needed it mostly for the timing retard with the nitrous.

I've been running the MSD-6AL ignition box since 1999.
I bought mine from TPiS, along with their 'Special Adapter Harness'.
TPiS P/N's are : 100-360 (MSD 6AL Ignition Control Box), and
100-361: (MSD Special Adapter Harness, [Coil in Cap Distributor]).
Cost was $229 including shipping.
I required it because of all the mods I have been doing over the years.
Once added, I could certainly feel the seat of the pants difference.
I have no idea what it all means horsepower wise, but I can tell you as I go through the gears, and shift 'em at 6200 RPM, it's made the combination 'pull'
so much harder.

I'm not so sure it's an item that is needed, unless you have modifications done to your motor. The Delco units in our Vettes are very good too.
