Default No More Runflats

I'm really leaning towards purchasing non-runflat performance tires but I would like to keep my psi sensors if possible. I'm wondering what you guys think is the most practical way of dealing with a flat when you would be unable to tow and patch at tire shop? If all else fails I'll just take psi sensors out and carry a bottle of fix a flat. Also how would you get rid of DIC low tire pressure warnings if I were to take psi sensors out?

Tire sensors have nothing to do with runflats. You can use them with any tires no problem. Most of us get one or another little kit that basically has a little plug rasp, a plug, and a plug inserter thing. It will fix small holes in the tread area if you can get to them. Most also carry a small air pump that runs off the car battery. If you get tires, make sure the rims go back on the same place so the sensor work right.

Also, you may want to carry Needle Nose Pliers with that Kit, just in case you get a nail in between the thread and need to pull it out first before plugging. just a thought.

TireRack sells a 'fix-a-flat' that they claim does not harm the TPM sensors.

Get a patch kit, needle nosed plyers, a compressor and a cell phone.

Remember that most tire punctures are either self-sealing or allow air to escape slowly enough so that you can get to any tire shop. Still, I have an aluminum Mercedes jack, a 12-volt compressor, tire plug kit and tools. Fortunately, odds are that I will never need them.

By the way, check into the Goodyear GSD3s - best all-around performance tires in the world!

i recently bought some 'fix a flat' and i was unaware it could harm the tms... how does it cause damage? seems the sensors could just be cleaned after use of the fix a flat.. i guess its not that easy?

Well....I just ordered a complete set of Pirelli's for $100.00 These are definitely Non-Runflats and I'm sure their performance is equally unparalleled!

They're currently on back-order and wont arrive to my office until Mar. 10th (ish). I'll let you know how they "handle" a few day's afterwards! In the event of a flat, this is how I will deal with the situation. Capable of 1-5 hhp!

Check 'em out!

Now, Pirelli has re-introduced the Cinturato in a sporting shoe as dramatically styled as the automobiles once shod by its namesake. Lightweight, breathable mesh uppers ventilate your feet during Summer’s heat. Contoured and cushioned footbed absorbs the impact of each stride, much like a Koni shock absorber — for all-day, on-your-feet comfort.

And Pirelli’s soft-rubber compound tread was especially designed to furnish uncompromising traction in both wet and dry conditions; under hard acceleration or sudden stops; and on straightaways or sweeping curves! Styled in the tradition of the great Italian design houses like Pinin Farina, Zagato, or Vignale, Pirelli’s are equally at ease at the helm of a 27’ Riva Aquarama, in the cockpit of a vintage V-12 Ferrari Berlinetta, window shopping along 5th Avenue, or strolling the shores of the Côte d’Azur.

Most Practical? Spare tire!
Other than most practical = air pump.
Most efficient = runflats
Best performance = non-runflats

I went with a jack from our German friend:

Hi guys, back on the forum again. Only modding I did to my vette was putting on some BBS LM wheels (thanks mixermiker).
But I did a lot of modding on Motorola Cellphones Razr V3 LOL

OK, back to the little lift. Got a bunch of 20 from the manufacturer just before Christmas. Had to raise the price due to higher shipping, higher tax and bad exchange for dollars. So now it is at $ 60.00 including shipping.
If you want a lift, please pay $60.00 via paypal to:

ewald.vangaever@daimlerchrysler.com

but ONLY if you are using existing funds in your PayPal account (I cannot accept PayPal transactions funded by debit or credit cards … but you CAN transfer money from your bank account into your PayPal account.

If you do not use Paypal, just put a $50.00 bill and a $10.00 bill into an envelope, hidden by some paper, and send it to my home address:

PM me and you will get the address.

Worked fine many many times.

Save the wave
