Skid Plate/Wheels...
Which front-end skid plates work better for a C-5...
The basic skid plates
or
The small wheels that bolt onto the front bumper support bracket.
Thanks!

I'd say it depends on your own use and taste
I got the frame savers and rocker rails combo from A&A Corvettes
The frame savers have the small wheels and have been fine for my use. The rocker rails cover the jacking points but you can jack from the same position using the rocker rails. The price is good at $109 for the set.

Chip at CCA (Willfulone) has some great frame savers (Fat Daddy and Fat Mamma) and always has great prices. The wheels are larger and may take extra punishment if you plan on whacking the nose regularly.

He also sells the rocker rails

Elite Engineering have some nice rocker rails and as always, their engineering quality is second to none.

All these guys are Forum Vendors and look after us all well.
I'm sure the skids would work just as well but the noise may be a bit more dramatic. At least the wheels cushion the blow somewhat

The other option is no wheels and no noisey skid plates.
Engineered Corvette Products has the Frame Savers
High impact wear restistant , non marking and quite covers that fit over and around the front frame bars. No drilling no welding. Just snap in and bolt up.

I have the wheels. They were a necessity until I got my driveway fixed. Then they are still nice if you ocassionally pull up too far on a parking block/curb, they just ride up without any damage. Guess stock rub bars can do that too !

If you're never going to trailer your car, EE rails are perfect.
Regarding the front frame (which was in pitiful shape when I bought it) I'm using the "fat daddy" with great success. While the skid plate would work as well, you'd still hear that lovely grinding noise.
