Default Day 5

Tuesday, Day 5, was spent mostly onthe exhaust system, remounting my X-Pipe with the new bung for the highpass sensor. I also completed pulling the factory mufflers out. Man, I tried to jack the rear up as high as I could and still could not get the old pipes out. I would up using a Sawzall to cut the old pipe up.

The new Borla pipes slid right in, without issue. The new Pace Car mufflers bolted right up.

Next, I relocated the horns. This is needed to make room for the intercoolers. Yes, this kit has TWO intercoolers!

Here is the horn, now mounted in the center of the bumper in the empty spot between the styrofoam parts:

Next, before I start the actual ProCharger install, I didn't like the hoses that I routed on the passenger side of the radiator and condensor. I reworked these with the help of my friend, Mike. Mike has been a huge help in the project, as well as my 17 year old son, Justin.

Here is the cleaned up look:

I'm sure you think you are being careful. But IMHO the way you have the Vette Raised in the back (along with the front on JSs) is very dangerous.

I single jack and a stack of scrap wood

At least get a couple of Rhino ramps under the rear tires.

Rhino ramps? No way! I have my own custom designed, home made ramps for my vette!

Duh.... Why would I even need to use the ramps, when the car is supported on jack stands?

I gotta stop saying I WANT one and just go ahead and get one

thanks for the step by step

if you don't mind me askin - how many miles were on this engine ?

are you doing any other internal engine upgrades to handle the new power ?

last thing I want to do is bolt on some horsepower and watch the rest of the engine grenade

TIA

Thanks...my car has 34,500 miles on it. No other engine mods at all. I do have American Racing 1-7/8" long-tube headers, X-Pipe, two high-flow cats, and a Corsa Pace Car cat-back system.
