Default 2003 Corvettes -- Anniversary or Not ??

Obviously in the 2003 50th year of the Corvette, there is the true 50th Anniversary Edition with it's own specific 'red' color. Also, the Anniversary Edition would have the special 50th Anniversary Emblems on the front and rear along with a unique "50th" emblem on the right front fender just behind the wheel well. I have no problem with that and think it is wonderful. I wish I had one, or two.

However, I believe I read some 'GM' literature that all Corvettes produced in the year '2003' would have the 50th Anniversary Emblems on the front and rear. However the unique "50th" emblem was not included. I have no problem with that and I happen to have recently acquired, as they say somewhere in Ky, "one of them there".

Therefore when a proud '03 QuickSilver Metallic owner is referring to their Corvette, is it 'OK' to describe it as a, "50th Anniversary '03" as opposed to as a "50th Anniversary Edition '03" ??

As I said, I am new to the '03 game and want to be sure I don't trample on the tulips more than absolutely necessary.

This ought to get interesting.

Default 2003 Corvettes -- Anniversary or Not ??

Yeah the whole 50th anniversary thing is alittle blurry to me I have a 2003 Z06 that has a 50th anniversary Emblem on the front and rear but
when reading about 50th anniversary edition cars they never mention the Z06 rather they only mention the burgandy car
I believe because it has a special 50th anniversary trim package.
But you can call your car a 50th anniversary Edition as far as I'm concerned

Ahh-Haa, It made me think about Confucious Saying #35,184:

It is always more desirable to have Tulips on your organ instead of a Rose on your piano.

Good Point. I could have asked just today. I was actually out cruising the NCM this morning. I stopped in to see W.S., the main-man, to show him my new toy. But, believe it or not, they let him have a vacation. Anyway, I will try some other "sources" and report back.

I still like the Tulips deal.

All 2003's are considered 50th anniversary and have the front and rear badges stating so. However, the special Anniversary Edition has the anniversary red metalic color exterior and the shale interior. The convertible has a shale top also. The AE has 50th badges on the left and right side front fenders (where the Z06 badges go). And the AE has gold painted wheels.

The RPO code is 1SC: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/.../2003prod.html

It was available on the coupe and convertible only.

You have an Anniversary Year,,, not an Anniversary Edition.

I just refer to ours as an '03. Eliminate the confusion. Nothing really special about being an Anniversary year. I love it anyway.

I don't know why this generates so much confusion.

My '03 has the front and rear emblems with the 50th logo along with the gage cluster having that also.

My 03 had a 50th emblem on the nose, truck and gauge cluster, but not the sides.

I did pop them off as just did not care for them.

<---- NEW nose emblem is my avatar

My car is yellow

Not being picky but how about them little things between the front & rear flags AND in the middle of the Tach and the Speedo that say:

50th

It isn't brain surgery people.

All 2003s are 50th anniversary cars but only those with RPO 1SC are 50th Anniversary Edition cars.

End of story.

It's like all the LT4 people claiming they own a Grand Sport because of the little red plate on the throttle body.

I don't feel that it is confusion as much as it is a desire to be 'appropriate' amongst peers.

Back to my 'stomping on the Tulips' remark, which comes from a concern that we be respected in a forum of such high esteem. Or in my case, because I live in Kentucky, I don't want to fuel the "remarks" and smirks any more than necessary.

That made me think of something:
Do you know what you call a 13 year old virgin in Kentucky?

UGLY

I could not help myself. Since the Doc booted me off alcohol, I cannot tell jokes all night long like I could with some 'ignorant oil' in me. So when/if they flash through, I like to let'r rip.
