Front Jack stand placement...
Yes, it's me again...
Question - if you raise the car in the front at the jacking point,
you can put 1 stand at the other jacking point, where do you
put the other stand, or do you keep the car lifted with one stand
at one point, and the jack at the other???? Do you guys lift the
car from inbetween the jack points and then put the stands at the
jack points???
Thanks,
Aceman

Re: Front Jack stand placement... (Aceman)
From October 2000 edition of Corvette Fever:
"1) Start at the back of the car and and jack up the rear from the center of the rear crossmember. Make sure you don't contact the spring. Set the jackstands just inboard from the rear control-arm bolts.
2) With the rear secure, start jacking up the front of the car by the front crossmember right in front of the oil plug. Put the jack in behind one of the front wheels and make sure you do not come in contact with the oil pan.
3) Position the front jackstands so that they contact the crossmember at the front adjustment bolts of the lower control arm. Keep them as close as possible to the crossmember for stability."
Make sure the rear of the car is slightly higher than the front.
