Holy crap! Goooood luck! I watched them build C5's at Bowling Green. They wheel the frame in and them the HVAC Unit. Everything else is built around the HVAC unit!!!!!!!
It's not that bad of a job but, you wont have a lot of free time for a while!
Make sure you use all new O rings!!
Hea,,when you disassemble the HVAC unit to replace the core, can you PLEASE take some pictures of the inside of the HVAC Box??

just finished putting a heater core in pegasuspup's FRC.
here are a few pics Curlee.
the quality of the pictures is sub-par. (gotta love cheap cameras)
so ima gonna post them big, maybe you can make out some detail.
might load slow.
also, here is a couple pic of the interior as i dismantled it.
the job wasnt that bad. 6 easy steps as per the GM manual...HAHAHAA
you do have to remove the intake, to access where the evap/heater cores come through the wall.
i actually found the car laid out very well. bolts are easy to access. the manual spelled it out word for word. and i didnt have to stand on my head or dislocated my shoulder to get on any fasteners. just dont get into a big hurry on this job. it would be easy to get ahead of yourself and put in a part that blocks access to another, or forget to hook up a component. well, unless you wanna do it again.
the heater core came with new rings, they are metal/rubber. and the evap uses standard ones you can grab anywhere.
