Any time I reuse heads, I have a machine shop pressure test them and then mill the surfaces to ensure they're true. Money well spent.

In your case with the bent valves, I'd strongly consider just buying a set of new ones from a sponsor.

Darn shame on the hack job install but it's good you're fixing it right.

Take your time,do it right and have a machine shop work the heads and valves so you dont have to do it all over again.

Was the engine over rev'd? What harmonic damper is on the engine? As others have already suggested, get the heads reworked. Maybe a good time to do a cam if you want a little more out of the engine along with new valve springs. Make sure you use new head bolts. Sorry to hear that your engine bit the valves, that sucks!

The bolts are stretched to yield. This is a onetime thing. Especially on an aluminum engine, the bolts are stretched this way because of the need for them to work kind of like springs. They allow the same clamp load between the head and block through the full operating temperature range. Once the bolt is used, if taken out, it will never reach the proper claim load again, hence the need to replace.

You missed some of the questions in the earlier post, they are important, unless you don't mind doing this all over again.
