CARB Legal Cam/Exhaust For CA Smog?
Hi, I'm new to C5's (just picked up a relatively low mile 2000 FRC)?
What kind of duration(s) @ .050 are people passing CA Smog Tests with in LS1's?
LSA's?
Also, there aren't any CARB legal Long Tube Headers are there?
Thanks...

Not sure on cams but i dont know of any. As far as LT's there are none that are CARB legal. There are some Shorties that are CARB legal but they are near pointless. some has shown improvements but some have actually lost power. They are most of a cosmetic mod.

Thanks, regarding the LT's that's my understanding too, none legal due to their O2 Sensor being relocated to the collector?

Hmmm, found this in the tuning section...
The biggest cam i have seen pass calif emsns is like a .224/.224 @ no less than a 114 LSA.

No CARB legal LT's...they change the position of the stock cats which is not allowed. B&B shorties are worth 10rwhp due to their step design with equal length primaries. Expensive, but you may be able to find a good used set...I did.
Cams, the G5X1E ("E" is for emissions) as it will pass the sniffer test on a properly tuned vehicle. Is it CARB legal...no. Will anybody know you're running it, not if your car passes the sniffer test.
Also, if you're ever intersted in CARB legal heads, AFR 205's are legal.

I used a GM Hot Cam on my last LS1 here in Southern California. I think it was 218/227 with 112 LSA. Ran great! Nice choppy idle. And with 525 lift never have to worry about broken valve springs. And passed smog easy. I could have put out 3 times the emissins and still passed. Can't use long tube headers here because it relocates the cats.
