I've seen the fork tabs(plastic) fall off/crack, no doubt they cause issues in the trans
Not saying it doesn't happen here, just would like some pics of the bent shift forks in the trans
Thanks

You would get better results if you asked for unicorn pics! LOL!
Not saying that you couldn't, but......
I've broken the plastic tab off......but haven't seen a bent shift fork yet. You'd really have to jam it hard with a lot of force?
I have spent some time designing power transmission gear boxes. And wanted to clarify my position, regarding the cheesy plastic tipped forks. My company would never approve such garbage in a gear box. Of course GM doesn't build high end gearboxes like we do, so you get what they pay for. Our gear boxes can run $40,000 to hunderd's of thousands depending on size and horsepower and RPM's to 50,000rpm.
This is the ONLY disappointment I have with the car, after seeing the cheesy forks. Other than that.........I love it.
Hope you can find a pic or two.

I have only seen one or two bent forks. It is some what hard to see, you can tell more by looking at the shift fork pads. I have seen more broken shift forks, where the tabs are actually broken from the fork.
I pulled my trans out this week to install a steel 3-4 and and brass isolators.

Bent forks are an urban legend. 1-2 is aluminum and haven't seen one break or bent, 3-4 is also aluminum and have seen them broken but upgrade with steel Viper unit. 5-6 and reverse is steel and never seen one bent but seen them damaged due to fork pad failure.
I recently took all the aluminum 3-4 forks to the recycler and it came out to 73 LBS.

I had heard of the bent forks when I first started looking at C5's and didnt know any better once I got mine but quickly learned that it was just an urban legend after I had posted of hearing about bent forks causing the shifting problems
