Default Head studs and Instal question

In the interest of time I figured id ask first. With the motor in the car with the headstuds in the block already. Can you install the heads? Or Do I need to put the heads on first and then install the Studs?

Just Curious. Thanks for any help in advance.

As from what I have seen personally and on online, studs installed first.

No problem installing heads over studs with the motor in the car. I've done it several times.

It can be done but is a little tight. Put your fingers under the head to prevent dragging the aluminum across the tops of the studs, which can result in some nasty scratches.

Yeah Ive done that before on another type of motor. I wanted to cry after lol.

I wish I could put the whole motor together on the stand and then install it. But the Bell housing bolts would be way to hard to get to.

You get the top 2 bolts from the top, a speed ratchet or a flex head ratchet helps. The bottom 4 you get below the car. It actually isn't that bad.
