Default Steep Driveway HELP

i have a 2010 gs vert, and im having trouble getting it into my garage because my driveway is at a slant before it gets into the garage and the car is too low to clear the angle. Does anyone have a solution to this problem.. like a small ramp or something?

Maybe a piece of 3/4" marine plywood that could be placed inside when not needed. Don't know how much lift you need.

How bad is the car bottoming out? Are you merely scraping the front diffuser or is it hard contact? If you're just hitting the diffuser its designed to withstand some scraping. You can grin and bear it or sometimes just changing your angle of approach can eliminate the problem.

If you're truly bottoming-out I think the best solution would be to actually change the angle of the driveway (or small section thereof). It's hard to say without seeing what's going on but maybe a small concrete (or asphalt?) cricket or cam strip could be added to reduce the severity of the angle. Hopefully, it won't require digging-up a section of the driveway. If it's all located on private property you're better off and hopefully there aren't any homeowner associations or restrictive covenants to deal with.

I seen a couple pretty wild ramp solutions here on the forum but using a ramp would be my second choice. I knew one guy that used a heavy steel plate to bridge a high curb but it wasn't anchored so it tended to shift position with use. Good luck!

Try this...My '05 is very low and I need ramps to get over the curb in front of the driveway. So, I took a 3 foot long 2X12 and cut one end in the shape of wedge, so the car will roll right on top. Do another one exactly the same way. Place the blunt end of the ramps at the end of the driveway and it will allow the car to approach the driveway without so much angle, you may need to adjust the ramps so that they are actually overlapping the end of the driveway. I also attached cabinet handles on each side of them so they are easy to carry. Good Luck

Try a search for 'curb ramps', there might be an off-the-shelf product that's not too expensive that will solve your problem.

Or maybe Discountramps.com may have what you need.

Race Ramps makes custom ramps.

You can contact our main office and ask for the customs department: 866-464-2788.

Thanks.

I come in at a angle - it seems to lessen the scraping. If I do scrape it's usually the plastic air dam and not the GS's front spoiler. When I do the driveway I going to add some paving to the front of the concrete to decrease the space.

Can't figure how to post link, Griot's Garage has something called, Driveway Curb Bridge. $ 300 kinda steep, but it may do the job.

I can't believe a builder would even consider building a drive they way, let alone a city approving it. You would have hell with anything including walking down it when it was raining.

I have a slope into the garage with not real way to lessen it. I studied and made measurements before pouring. The bottom line is I have to back in and it still drags the air deflector some. It sounds horrible and new people give me the strangest looks when they hear it and I don't react. You get used to it (the air deflector).

Same here. I learned though exactly how far to back out and then cut my steering wheel to come out at the right angle to not scrape my air dam. Its about a 40% chance that i mis-calculate and scrape it briefly.

I cut my wheel at the end of the driveway ,existing at abort 45 degrees , this helps a lot. The idea of a a costom ramp makes a lot of sence. If you make it from a 2x12, With 2x4s on edge ,cut to the angle of the driveway slope, with the 2x12s eased at each end to say a 1/4 ". This might help if the angle is more acute. Good Luck.
