Carlisle Blue? Real GM color? rare?
been watching this C6Z for awhile, i have to say one of the most beautiful examples ive found. the color combo inside and out is just amazing. but ive never seen another one like it before.
is this a genuine GM color or a repaint? if real is it fairly rare?
they have a TON of pics posted here http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Co...m=141945654742

4.6% of the 2012 production was in Carlisle Blue; 109 base coupes, 42 base verts, 243 grand sport coupes, 118 grand sport verts, 12 Z06s, and 11 ZR1s.
The most popular color for the Z06 and ZR1 that year, by a mile, was Carbon Flash (ie. the Centennial Edition cars)

They look even better in person... had a base C6 in that color ease past me in traffic, only one I've ever seen. The color is so subtle that it makes the lines on car stand out. Awesome interior color on this one.

I saw one in my small south Dallas town a few weeks ago. Was shocked to see it actually as I knew they were very rare and I live in a little tiny town with ~5 Corvettes.

I think Hib has one? I think its a color where you either love it or hate it. If its something you like...grab it!

Here's another....
One of only three '12 Z06es in Carlisle Blue built with 1LZ, Z07 and B92 and the only one built with those three and PBC.
Fun fact: While the public name for the color was "Carlisle Blue", that name was a late decision by GM to honor the anniversary of the "Corvettes and Carlisle" Show. The exterior designers called it either "Ice Blue" or "Space Blue". Typically, dealer ordering info listed "Ice Blue" and build sheets said "Space Blue."

Funny "MTPZ06" should say, "you either love it or hate it".
In the Spring of 2011, I was at the Bash when GM debuted the color for MY12. Amongst the media and Corvette enthusiasts present, everyone raved about the color. You'd have thought the designer who selected it for the color pallet in MY12 was a god. I heard more than one person say, I'm going to buy a new Carlisle Blue Vette ias soon as I get home. Several Corvette writers, myself included, loved the color.
Yet, Carlisle Blue was next to last in MY12 sales numbers for colors with 535 cars built.
So, yeah, lots of people said they loved it, but most people hated it when it came time to write a check...myself excepted, of course.
Fun Fact: the worst selling color in 2012 was "Inferno Orange" at 471 C6es built.
Fun Fact #2: Among Z06es, CB is, in fact, the most rare color with 12 cars built. While "Inferno Orange" sold 471 units among all C6es, there were 16 Z06es built in that color and that beat CB numbers by four cars.

Beautiful color. I almost ordered a 12' GS in Carlisle Blue but instead at the time I ordered a 45th Anniversary SS/RS Camaro. Looking back I wish I would have gone with the GS. Before buying my 09' Z last summer I looked for a nice used Carlisle Blue GS and it was super slim pickings.........

Whenever the vinyl wraps become reliable enough and are easier to take off the car, I'd like to get a wrap job with this color or JSB...
I'm less picky about a car being its original color. I consider paint in the same category as other wearable parts like brakes, tires, seats, etc...those things just wear out and eventually need replacing...

I might be wrong on this one -- it happens from time to time -- but wasn't Inferno Orange limited for 2012? For some reason I remember it not being available all the year through, whether it be for sales performance reasons or otherwise, I am not sure.

I'll admit when I first saw it years back, I hated it. I said, what a "soft" color for such an aggressive looking car. It's grown on me over the years, and I actually do like it now. My favorite of all the blues is still NRB though.
The pictures posted by the OP that shows off the interior and exterior combo...I must say its the "classiest" looking C6Z I've seen.

Yep..most on this forum disliked the color when introduced...If you like it OP grab it. Best thing about it is you wont pass yourself driving down the road and its a Z....

not overly fond of the interior---would preferred solid black. But I do like this color.
My current one is a 2008 silver 2lz and have been thinking about getting a later model.
wonder why it was on dyno---maybe tuning? But under warranty..... hmmm will need to ask questions

agree!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just picked up my CBM beauty last week (sold my 09 AO). Loved the AO.....it was very rare also, But the Carlisle Blue really grew on me, and I pulled the trigger (4500 miles). NPP, Nav, HUD, PWR SEATS...added the glossy black top and halo...and it already has turned many heads. It excites me every time I go to the garage....and there it is 1 of 109 and probably less than 5 in Arizona. GO FOR IT!!!!!
