Breaking taper on front LCA ball joint?
Trying to drop the front LCA to install lowering bolts. Un-did the nut, the shock bolts, and the sway bar. Damn LCA would not drop. Banged the hell out of it with a mallet and everything, couldn't get it to separate. Any ideas? Did I miss something stupid?
Thanks!

It doesn't always work, but most of the time it does.
Take the nut loose on the lower control arm, but not all the way off. On the sides of the spindle you will see 'flats' on both sides. Take a medium sized ball-peen hammer and give it a good solid tap on both sides. Most of the time this will shock it loose and you don't end up tearing the ball joint boot like most pickle forks do.
