I'm sure LEOs appreciate a nice sports car just like everyone else.

Never hesitate to politely ask for a verbal warning.....if you can make a brief case for having a really good driving record and will take a warning to heart......I usually responded positively to a respectful (non-whining) request....

I get a lot of waves. I also get followed alot. The area I love in is notorious for being a speed trap. I think they're just waiting for me to go 1 mph over the posted limit so the can tag me. I've had friends written up for going 1 mph over!!
I tend to go at or below the posted limit.

I said "Any chance you can give me a break? We're cutting our vacation short and going home today because of the fire." He said "We'll see" and got back in his car to run my record (no tickets in two years.).

Apparently not enough to let me out of a ticket - I received an "unsafe lane change" ticket in December 2014. I am always super respectful and cooperative with authority. He must have owned a Mustang

Yes we love them. Most of us either have one or want one.
I've had my crystal red C7 vert for 18 months and 27,100 miles. I was stopped for the first time on Monday, for speeding, in Big Bear Lake, a mountain resort near LA. I asked the Sheriff for a break and got off with a warning. My home and business are within close proximity to four police jurisdictions: LAPD, LA County Sheriff, Glendale PD, and California Highway Patrol. I regularly get honks and waves from cops. I've gotten numerous compliments on my Vette from cops. What is your experience?
