Hate to say it, but I actually like watching them wallow around Sears and the Glen.

I don't really like watching ovals, but NASCAR puts on a great show on the road courses.

Thanks again for programing guide.

Man, y'all are a tough crowd! We love ALMS, SWC, etc., because "they're driving cars like ours on *real* race courses." Then NASCAR comes along, which have about as much relation to our cars as Lou's C6R, run at one of America's most historied road courses, and we *STILL* won't give them any props!

My favorite NASCAR race mix of 36 races:

4 restrictor plate tracks (still don't see how they manage to not kill anyone)
8 short tracks (under 1 mile)
2 Pocono (a truly unique oval), but sheesh, split 'em up by more than a month!
6 one mile ovals (flat and banked)
6 road courses (pick your favorites)
6 1.5 mile
4 2 mile + tracks.

Joe, thanks again for the info.

Have a good one,
Mike

I like watching them at Sanoma and the Glen too. And watching the starts at most other races.

I got the term "Tin Tops" from the Speed TV F1 comentators.

I love the idea of 6 road courses for them, but no short tracks. Make sure that there is at least one road race in the final few races of the season in their run for the championship.

Tough to admit but I know it is hard to run their speeds at an oval - but I sure like to see them at a road course. Kind of like riding a mini-bike....fun but sure embarrassing when your buddies catch you at it...

I even watched a little of a Nashville race today since I have run the "roval" there and could relate a little bit....

The Busch race was great today. Hopefully, this will convince NASCAR to do a few more road courses a season.

I really like this race. Don't kid yourself, these guys are flying there. They have 10,000 RPM, 900HP motors with marginal grip, how cool is that? Notice how the different cars go through the bus stop. Last year, Mark Martin was bouncing through and the #20 was just floating like a ballet dancer and won easily. I can't wait, but I have to do family stuff so I am recording it, but just in case I screwed up programming my new DVD recorder I hope someone else records it.

Did you guys see the bush race yesterday when one dude tried to take the lead on the second to last lap? That was a crazy move, suprised they didn't both wreck. I am not a nascar fan, but the road course races are fun to watch.

I saw it on one the many talk shows today about NASCAR on Speed while channel surfing in the motel...plan to watch the Nextel race today at 1330 EST....

Showing my ignorance - what is the difference in the Busch (minor leagues?) and Nextel cars?

Wheel base is shorter, little lighter, little lower HP. Other than that, they share alot of the same stuff, which is why many of the Nextel cup guys run Busch because its a practice race for them.

Busch also runs a different tire compound normally.

The race yesterday was great. How many F1 races have you seen end that dramatically. I love F1, watch it every time its on TV, but yesterday's race was close the entire race.

Kinda like the Rolex race at VIR this year That was a great race as well! Battles up until the final corners! Just as it should be.

How much of a better race can you get? Stewart got beat fair and square, but he was excited for Harvick and enthusiastically congratulated him. Clearly the #29 car had more motor, but Harvick drove very well. His pass on the 20 car was clean and they both showed how it is supposed to be done (Paul Tracy take note). I still think Stewart is the best driver out there, bar none.

Default So much for the ringers

Did you guys see that they re-classified Said and Fellows? Ouch. I saw that said got into Newman entering the bus stop (Newman was blocking like a ****) but I didn't see what Fellows did.

Personally I think they got screwed. Nascar=WWF

I thought Stewart had it when he tookk the lead, and was surprised at the (relatively) easy pass by Harvick. .... Fox track guy guy said on a radio show this AM that Stewart was out of brakes ... so that compromised him. FWIW ...

Robby Gordon trying to get past Kurt Bush. Robby was insane, I don't see how Kurt kept his car even close to pointing the right direction. Excellent car control from both drivers.

I just wish NASCAR would go to more road courses.

Have a good one,
Mike
