Funny thing at VIR (now, anyway)..
There I was strapped in the passenger seat coaching my driver at the NCM event this summer accelerating away from Oak Tree when I felt a sharp, piercing pain in my left arm pit. OUCH! It really started to burn badly. After a few seconds I realized a bee/wasp/hornet or whatever had flown into my short sleeve shirt. Unable to adjust my position to remove the critter, I just sat there and hoped it would end soon. I don't think the tears in my eyes were from the wind as we approached 140. After I regained a little composure, I informed my driver of the situation and he said it looked as though the 'whatever' was now flying around in the back. After we came into the pits I asked him if there was a welp as I raised my sleeve. Yep! a huge one! I guess just another argument for long sleeves.

Well, after a couple of more laps it was kinda like the cartoon of sitting in a bucket of cold water when your butt catches fire, "Man that feels so much better". Anyone else had any funny/unusual instances on the track?

I had a student that took a right before the bridge at RA (before 12) and took the "drift pad" circle. It was a fun scenic circle ride
I had another student at road atlanta that kept wanting to turn down the motorcycle section in the esses, even after 2 days and who knows how many laps i was about to the point where I was gonna say "next session I'm going to hold a 35" Easton alum bat in my lap, and if i even see you flinch toward that road, I'm going to smash your fingers on the steering wheel."
