Default recomendations on a stable gun for working on a C4 door panel

I need to buy a staple gun for attaching new carpet strips on my C4 door panels. I have no idea what to buy. I saw this one at Home Depot. Shipping is free to store. Any ideas?

I am assuming...because C4 encompasses from 1984 to 1996....which the door panels are different from 1984 to 1996.....I am assuming that you are dealing with a 1984 to 1989 door panel.

I will tell you this...I use an air stapler...but I am really careful on how I place the staples. BECAUSE if you install the staples side by side when installing the staples....you will actually weaken the door panel and it can snap almost basically in two.

Just make sure you use stainless steel staples....if possible so they do not rust.

Thanks DUB. I must have removed 50 staples on each panel taking the carpet off. So that air stapler I mentioned will work?

I do not see why not. You are going into plastic....so it should have the power to get the job done. Just be careful when you staple the carpet back in place.

Thanks DUB, ordered it today. I kept a staple to measure the depth. Do you know where to get the bottom screw eye-lits, I had to drill mine out.

Call and talk to Pat Hill @ KoolMat in Mooresville. ( if you can not get her number)...I know most of the race shops know of her so she should not be too hard to find. She uses eyelets when she makes the heatmaster shields for the new Vettes and other cars. The last time I was up at her place getting 'stuff'....I got a handful of these eyelets...which may be the same size as what you need. Something to look into. Just be aware these eyelets are shiny like chrome plating.

She has the tool that stakes/flares these eyelets...but I do them with what I have...but maybe you can throw her some $$$ and she might let you sue her tool there.

Thanks DUB. Question, did you have a shop in south west Charlotte
(just west of 77) back in the late 80's? If so you rebuilt my 76 rear brakes because I couldn't press off the rear spindles.

Yes...my old location was about a mile off I-77 heading west on US 74.....and then on Morehead St....so that was me. I do not know if I would call it southwest...because I could see the Charlotte skyline from my shop door.

It's been a long time. What is you shop 's name? I lost your business card a few years back. You had to torch the old rear spindles loose to change the rear bearings and install new emergency brakes. Drove that 76 until it had 170,000 miles and then sold it to buy this 88 35th at the Food Lion Spring Autofair back in 95. Which I am working on at present.
