Using/attaching remote start switch
Ok, this is probably a simple thing, but I can't figure it out. I would like to use my remote start switch to bump the engine over and I can't figure out where to attach it to on the starter. And I think the terminal I need to attach it to is not accessible (see picture). The starter switch I have is a OTC: https://www.amazon.com/OTC-3650-Heav...starter+switch
Here is pic of starter:
that's the terminal I cant' get to
Thanks,
Jim

Yes. One to the battery cable terminal, and the other to the "S" terminal with the purple wire.

I had the same issue, but I still got it on there by feel. You could buy a rod coupling and screw it on there to extend the terminal.

An alligator clip with an insulator boot over it can fit in there on the nut or the screw shank. It needs to be 14 awg or larger wire, as the starter solenoid takes decent current to fire it. I would have thought that a remote starter switch would have alligator clips on the lead ends.

If you're wanting something that's not temporary, you could tap in to the wires at the starter and have a connection at a location that you can reach, with the hood up. I've done it on race cars (for checking the valves between rounds) to where I use a rubber covered button.

Look at running a wire from the neutral safety switch (10ga Purple) to an accessible underhood location. I picked up mine from the clutch switch and put a 2 terminal block with a pair of 1/4" studs. Clip the remote button onto them and instant starter bump. PLEASE make sure it's not in gear or in park. You could also run another wire direct to the starter terminal and do the same thing.
