1982 Corvette in Rare Silver Green

One of 723 in this color, is this California C3 Corvette the ultimate driveable collectible?

There’s no denying the C4 Corvette was a giant leap forward when it debuted in 1984, but there’s just something so sexy about the curves of the C3 that cannot be denied. The 1982 Corvette was the last of the long line of the C3, and this Silver Green Metallic paint option, and matching Silver Green leather interior was sort of a going away present. While there were 6,759 official 1982 Collector Edition Corvettes sold, there were only about 500 examples of these green-over-green-interior cars made.

Sure, the interior color is an acquired taste, but there’s no denying that this combination is a time capsule of 1982. This particular example comes with the optional cassette deck, so you can pop in “Asia” by Asia, or rock out to your cassingle of Olivia Newton John’s “Physical” while you enjoy those 200 Cross Fire-injected horsepower. This car also has the one-year-only (in the C3) 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission, so not only could you get to 60 mph in less than 8 seconds (fast for ’82), but you could get better than 15 mpg while doing it!

This particular car is a one-owner (or three depending on which ad you believe), nicely kept example with less than 60,000 original miles on it. It is currently for sale in Palm Springs, CA and from the look of it has always been garaged and never left the warmth and dryness of Southern California. Currently listed for $19,700 (or $207 a month) at a used car dealer, it seems like a good deal for someone looking for a driveable collectible.
