Never say never, because if you’ve ever said you’d never drive an all-electric Corvette, then I’m guessing you might change your mind after seeing this new project in the works.

Currently being developed by the Rockville, Maryland-based Genovation Cars, the project car is an all-electric prototype built from a 2006 Chevy Corvette Z06, and it’s expected to put out a whopping 700 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque.

Sold yet?

If not, maybe you’ll find this bit of info more convincing: the electric powered ‘Vette is expected to have a 0-60 time of 3.0 seconds and a top speed of at least 200 mph, according to an AutoBlog report. Genovation Cars claims it’ll be able to travel 150 miles on a single charge. But it’s those power and speed numbers that has us most excited to see this project come to life.

Known as GXE, the electric powered Corvette is revving up to make its debut at the Electric Vehicle Technology Expo in Michigan this September, with a test track date expected to follow soon after.
