Remember that Callaway Corvette wagon concept we covered a few years back? Well, good things come to those who wait.

According to Bold Ride, Callaway Cars is now gearing up to start building a “shooting brake” model of the C7. The company says a few will even be ready by the fourth quarter of 2016.

Dubbed the “AeroWagen,” the car was initially supposed to go into production in 2014. But apparently the idea started losing steam, which explains why it hadn’t been on our radar.

Now that it’s ready for production, it’ll be interesting to see how the AeroWagen goes over here at Corvette Forum. So far reactions have been mixed. Although, I get the sense that it might have a bigger fan-base than some expect. After all, I can’t imagine that Callaway Cars would pursue the idea if they didn’t think it was viable.

Either way, you still probably have a few months to wait before rushing to the bank to secure that down payment. My gut tells me that late 2016 launch date might change.
