Corvette of the Week: a C2 Worth the Wait

Wishing and hoping and thinking and praying for two years over finding your dream Corvette may seem like nothing compared to 14 and a half, but as anyone who has ever searched for a car knows, it can be very easy to give up on the dream when the search is taking longer than expected. CF member Frankie the Fink had pretty much given up chasing a Split-Window Coupe after almost two unsuccessful years when CF member firstgear reached out to him and ended his search with this gorgeous 1963.

Frankie the Fink was not going to take any chances. After taking a flight to check out the car, he spent “a tad over 3 hours under the car on a lift, upside down in the floorboard with a goose neck LED inspection camera, elbow deep in the engine bay [along with] a 20+ mile drive (all by [himself]) behind the wheel.” He found the car to be even “nicer than the owner described” and describes the ride as “sex on wheels.” The car has been so loved and the record keeping so good, you can even wish the car a happy 50th birthday as of May 29, 2013.

Firstgear “cried all night” at the thought of seeing it go, but is “just glad that the car is going to someone that will exercise it on a regular basis.”

Good things come to those who wait and, thanks to our wonderful community on CorvetteForum, Frankie the Fink will wait no more.

Congratulate Frankie and read more about his find here.
