Could This Be the First “Official” Image of the Corvette Zora C8?

Could this be it? The moment of truth (or more like the “image of truth”) we’ve all been waiting for? Well, I guess that all depends on how much weight we put into an apparent leak from General Motors’ racing partner, Katech.

LeftLane News and a number of other sources are reporting that this bit posted in a section dedicated to the “C8 Corvette ZR1/Zora LT5” on Katech’s website, might be the most official confirmation to date that the much buzzed about mid-engine Corvette is on the way.

It also further fuels speculation that the mid-engine Corvette will come in two trims — a base ZR1 model and higher performance Zora model.

The photo has since been removed from Katech’s site, but we’ve actually seen this rendering before from the Velocity TV show Americarna, so this image is well over a year old on the internet. Still, coupled with the recent announcement that GM will be investing $290 million into Corvette’s Bowling Green plant in Kentucky, it does add credence to rumors that Chevrolet is already busy working on the mid-engine Corvette.
