Lingenfelter Supercharged C8 Corvette Rips off Easy 10-Second Pass

A brand new offering, the Lingenfelter supercharged C8 Corvette has already smashed a record with impressive results.

The C8 Corvette has proven rather elusive to modify since its launch back in 2019 for the 2020 model year, mostly thanks to a Fort Knox-like ECU built to withstand hackers. However, we’ve seen plenty of folks circumvent this by using piggyback ECUs and twin turbos, for the most part, along with a couple of supercharger kits as well. Recently, it seems as if more than one company has managed to tune the mid-engine Corvette, and that includes long-time parts-maker Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, which recently released a supercharger kit for the C8 as well. Now, a Lingenfelter supercharged C8 Corvette has apparently broken the quarter-mile record for that particular application, too.

This Lingenfelter supercharged C8 Corvette accomplished that by ripping off a 10.62-second pass at 129 miles-per-hour, impressive numbers, indeed. The car we see in this video is equipped with the new Stage 1 Lingenfelter Magnuson TVS2650 supercharger kit, which retails for $24,950 and lifts output to 700 horsepower and 675 pound-feet of torque on a modest 7 pounds of boost, a healthy increase over the stock rating of 495 and 470 for cars equipped with the Z51 Performance Package.

This particular kit comes with an array of goodies, including the supercharger itself, a custom calibrated ECM (no piggyback here), an ECT intercooler and heat exchanger, a 95mm throttle body, and upgraded spark plugs. Its price may seem a bit hefty, but it also includes installation at Lingenfelter’s build centers or an authorized installer, which ensures a quality job across the board, if not a more expensive one.

Regardless, there’s no denying the results. It doesn’t even seem like the driver uses launch control on this pass – they just take off when the light turns green, on a non-prepped surface, on 93-octane fuel, on a 79-degree day. The car wound up running some very consistent times back-to-back, with all three passes landing in the 10.6-second range, which is undoubtedly impressive. Thus, for those that want to transform their C8 into an easy and reliable 10-second car, this particular kit is a pretty attractive offering, even if it isn’t the quickest such vehicle on the planet at the moment.
