The C8 Corvette Makes a Pretty Darn Good Daily Driver (Least Shocking News Ever?)
Plenty of forum members are more than happy to drive their C8 Corvette all the time, it seems.
There was a time, not too long ago, when people simply didn’t daily drive sports cars. These types of vehicles were little more than fun weekend toys that lived under a cover in the garage until the weather turned nice, at which point they’d see limited action in fair conditions. Times have changed, however, and sports cars in general are far more reliable and easy to live with than ever before, all while also offering blistering performance. As such, perhaps it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that many Corvette Forum members who own a C8 Corvette also use it as their daily driver.
That much is evident from this thread, where scores of users have chimed in to respond to the original poster’s question regarding how many do precisely that. “Every day except inclement weather and cold weather below 40 degrees,” said direct007. “8,700 miles since March 2022. I don’t understand people that buy these gorgeous machines to park in their garage and wipe them with a diaper.”
“I drive mine every day – 14,000 miles in 13 months,” said MarioC8. “That includes a 3,000 mile road trip. 1LT with Mag Ride and NPP. Very comfortable and storage is better than expected. I do, however, have a Civic that I use to haul around my dog, go to the stadium, when I plan to leave my car unattended all night in Miami, etc.”
Others tend to drive their cars pretty much all the time, save for the rain, and that isn’t just because they don’t want to get it dirty, either. “Once you lose traction on a wet road, you will understand why,” direct007 added. “I like to drive in a spirited way as well and I’d rather not drive the Corvette at all as opposed to compromise on wet roads, not to mention all of the nut jobs on the road that don’t know how to drive…especially in the rain. It has nothing to do with not wanting to get the Vette wet.”
Regardless, judging by the responses to this thread thus far, more than a handful of C8 Corvette owners are more than happy to use the sports car as their daily mode of transportation, and it’s easy to see why. After all, this is a fun, stylish, comfortable, and reliable vehicle, and what more could you possibly want than that – so long as you don’t need more than two seats, that is?
