Our Favorite Corvettes from LS Fest 2024

LS Fest West 2024 kicked off with a day of rain but finished up with some incredible feats and awards from the dragstrip to the donut pit.

There aren’t many automotive festivals that satisfy the rowdiness of the sideshow crowd and maintain the finesse of pro-am competitions, and be open to the public, all at the same time. However, Holley manages to do this near-flawlessly each year with some of the finest, fastest (and unique) Corvettes on earth, and LS Fest West 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada was no different.

Full disclosure: CorvetteForum’s sister site, LS1Tech, is an LS Fest sponsor.

And even in the face of inclement weather, LS fans remind us that they are still a force to be reckoned with. Here are our top picks for this year’s series opener!

Loving Tribute at LS Fest: C6 Corvette Stingray

It’s always great to see a well-kept C6 strutting its stuff, and no matter what your stance is on whipping a Vette around in an enclosed space, this one deserves a little respect.

The owner of this “Blade Silver” Stingray sought to honor a fallen loved one named “Ferny” (who was also his cousin, according to the MC) with some super smoky donuts, and we honestly can’t be mad about that.

Green with Envy: 1970 Pro-Touring C3 Corvette

Everyone always praises the C5 and C6 for their big power gains and versatility, but quite a few people sleep on the potential of the C3. Especially an LS6-swapped version like this one, owned by Garrett Randall, aka @carrotgrandall on Instagram.

Affectionately called “Rambo,” Randall said his Vette is making 450 RWHP, which is actually quite potent for a fiberglass body of the early ’70s.

Though it started as a restoration build by the owner of JCG Automotive in Southern California, Randall ultimately purchased the vehicle from him and continued with his own vision to what you see here: a massively-flared track behemoth that slays AutoX and 3S challenges everywhere it goes.

Road/Track Weapon: 2018 ‘War Machine’ C7 Corvette

Our Favorite Corvettes from LS Fest 2024

If you attended LS Fest West 2023, you may recall a “Goblin Green Glider” C7 with a massive rear wing (it was purple before that). Believe it or not, that 2018 C7 started its life in Northern California as a black car.

This is the same Corvette, now with a shimmering metallic wrap and is debaged for a even sleeker look. It was a definitely a head-turner while bending the corners of the 3S Challenge at LS Fest West 2024. Draped Up & Stroked-Out: Lingenfelter 454-Stroker C6 Z06

Lingenfelter at LS Fest West 2024

Last but certainly not least, this C6 Z06 owned by Michael Rovere (who also competed on behalf of the Lingefelter Race Team at LS Fest West) is an absolute monster in our eyes with its 820 HP. This thing sports an Eliminator Spec R 454 LS7 for power, and slotted two-piece rotors paired with Alcon Brakes and carbon-forged Forgeline wheels for locomotion and stopping.

Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, founded by the late John Lingenfelter in Decatur, Indiana, in 1973, solidified its place as a premier aftermarket tuner for General Motors vehicles. Initially specializing as a carburetor tuner for drag racing, the company rapidly evolved into a performance mogul when it comes to Camaros, Corvettes and other GM models thanks to adopting the right advancements in automotive tech.

LS Fest West 2024, despite weather hindrances and dragstrip incidents, retained a strong showing for Vegas, and reminds us why it remains the largest engine-specific festival in the world and growing. LS Fest Texas is up next, May 17-18, but we can’t wait for next year again in Nevada.

Here are our other favorites from “Sin City.”
