Mike Trout might have had a few huge hits in Tuesday’s 2014 MLB All-Star game, but the baseball star’s biggest win came in the closing ceremony when the outfielder was handed the keys to a new Corvette as MVP.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim player, who had a triple, a game-winning double, a pair of RBIs and a run scored in the American League’s 5-3 win, had the option of picking a new silver convertible Stingray or a Silverado pickup for earning MVP in the Chevy-sponsored game. When Trout’s mother started excitedly pointing at that Vette, though, I think it was pretty clear he was going for the Chevy sports car.

Call me biased, but I certainly think you made the best pick there, Mr. MVP, and congratulations on an amazing game.

Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank Derek Jeter for all he’s done for the game as well in his final All-Star appearance.
