Would You Pay $20,000 to be atop the Corvette’s Six-Month Waiting List?

2014 C7 Corvette Stingray on Transporters at Bowling Green Home

Let’s say you want to surprise your wife/mistress/husband/boy-toy with a C7 Corvette Stingray for the holidays. You may be faced with having to pay $5,000 to $20,000 to place yourself at or near the top of the Corvette’s six-month waiting list … either that, or tell your mistress there will be no presents this year, which could provoke her to telling your wife about your affair.

Because the C7 is the first generation of Corvette the rest of the world wants to buy, you won’t be competing with domestic buyers only. To make matters worse for those attempting to placate their other significant others, fewer than one third of Chevrolet dealerships are authorized to sell the Corvette Stingray.

If you want a C7 Corvette for the holidays, a road trip to a faraway dealer may be in your future, and you can definitely expect your wallet to lose a lot of paper weight in the process.
