Is it Possible to Have a Sleeper Corvette?

Sleeper is a term that normally goes with something that is unexpectedly fast, such as your standard boring grey sedan that packs something incredible under the hood. So calling a C2 a sleeper may be a bit of a stretch, considering that they are widely regarded as a sportscar to begin with. However, in this case, “sleeper” is a perfect description.

The C2 in the video below appears incredibly stock, and even the street wheel and tire combo is sure to have anyone underestimate what this Corvette can do to any unfortunate soul that lines up next to it at a street light.

In the burnout box, some things become clear. The unmistakable sound of a turbo is just audible enough to give us hints. But it’s only when the lights go green that all is revealed. What looks like a relatively tame launch (as opposed to things we’ve seen from RPM and Carlyle) is followed immediately by the engine filling its lungs and hurtling the red ‘Vette to a hugely impressive 10.64 at 136 mph quarter-mile time.

Now I need to know what the heck is in this thing! A sleeper indeed.
