As is often the case, John Hennessy is blowing smoke.
The cylinder head on the LS7 in Z/28s is the same as the cylinder head used on C6 Z06es.
The only significant hardware difference between the Camaro version and the Corvette version are the air filter assembly and the exhaust manifolds.

+1. I owned a 06 Z for 3 years and sold it to build my house. The valve guide scare started about the time when I purchased my car in 09. I was so concerned that I purchased an extended warranty through my local Chevy dealer for piece of mind. I was contemplating getting back into a C6Z as I thought the head issue was resolved for '12-13. From what I am reading now, that doesn't appear to the case. This on going issue and the fact that the new C7Z's just don't show well out on the street is causing me to seriously consider switching brands and looking for a Viper for my next sports car. Tadge's response to this question will seal my decision.

I am astonished that the C5 vote is likely going to win out

I appreciate process and protocols, we have drummed up a ton of support and people are not going to go through and re-do it all over again. I hope the question will stay with the numerous pages of support and make the question list again.
While I feel bad for the C5 guys not being able to get parts, I also feel bad for us C6 Zo6 owners who have lost engines and will continue to do so, as well as those of us who have spent 3K+ getting them repaired.

Why bother at this point, I have spent a lot of time Championing this cause, my heads have recently been rebuilt, I have no skin in the game except to help others and for GM to actually admit fault and do something about it.
Someone else pick up the ball and run with it now. I don't particularly care for your reply about sour grapes, that is unbecoming of you as well.

And with that, I am done trying to help the C6 Z06 question, someone else can run with it, I have invested a lot of time and energy into this subject and have much better things in life to focus on
