C7- Dexos1 or Mobil 1 Engine Oil?

To add to the confusion, user manual for 2016 Corvette says to use Dexos 2 oil. Also, Mobil 1 5W30 is not available in several countries but only 0W40. Last but not least, reseller said that he got the approval from GM Europe to use Motul Dexos 2 in place of Mobil 1 since he does have a contract with Motul only...

Found this out at the Bash.
The Mobil guys liked to point out that Dexos is a spec not an oil.
Truck engines are manufactured in the same plant as the base Corvette engine.
GM was not willing to pay Mobil-1 prices for the truck oil fill so the base corvette is not filled with Mobil-1. The ZO6 is filled with Mobil-1.
