What engine reliability testing procedures do you run
Are they run at wide open throttle for a set amount of time at peak torque for a specific amount of time then checked for bearing wear?
Are engines ever ran at a 50% over stock power to over engineer the engine for potential future stress?
Only other data I have heard is for the Bugatti Veyron SS. Which stated in 2010 EVO that the engines are designed to last 300,000KM (186,000 miles). Which was some VW benchmark.
One other bit of info was on the bugatti Chiron noted from Motortrend. Stating "The engine has been bench tested at full throttle for 25 hours; had it been in a Chiron in top gear, the car would have traveled the same distance as Wolfsburg, Germany, to Phoenix, Arizona."
