So as most of you know I've been building a computer for my car, part of the project requires me to have 'stealth' buttons that are hidden behind a flat piece of painted plexi. Well i got these ic chips that are really cool and i thought i'd share them with you guys.
they have matrix ones for keys that will be close to each other and they also have sliders and rotary dials (like the ipods: http://www.qprox.com/products/qwheel_qt510.php) I think; for my next project, i may try to hack the a/c controls and make a custom flat panel interface with these buttons.
Buttons are cool. Ive seen those on alot of industrial controls in semiconductor plants. The technology has been around for ever, its basically grounding / drian senseing switching. They last for a pretty long time, and dont false acutate much.
But man, the way you're going, yer gonna be hackn on your ride too much to enjoy driving it!
this is the great thing about it, i enjoy doing this too! And it's better then watching tv I dont know if i will ever get to the ac control thing but it would be cool!
