C5 door rattles
I took the door panel off and the stock sound blocker underneath. Put dynamat on the inside of the door behind the window and reinstalled the sound blocker. Dynmatted around the door handles, openers, pulls, and anything else that looked like it could rattle. Dynamatted around the speaker grill on the inside of the panel, the window and door actuator buttons, too. And I still have rattles. One source appears to be the HVAC vent on the driver's side door (don't know how I'd get rid of that one). It's driving me batty!
Is the only option to get rid of the Bose speakers, move the sub to the trunk, and put midranges up front?
Anybody got a post or troubleshooting method how to do this? I tried searching but didn't have much luck.
Thanks, and I can't wait for summer to put the top down!
I pulled the door panels, and tightened the tabs and super glued the Blose Emblem, then I used some very short, small sheet metal screws and screwed down the tabs on the speaker covers.
Then I took some silicone bluke, and gobbed up the tabs and the screws, so they would not come loose. I reglued the foam in the upper door panels with 3M Spray on Contact Cement. When I put the door panels back on I used some very thin weatherstripping, with adhesive on one side, and put it in between each pin hole all the way around the door. I took the weather stripping right up to holes, so when the panels snapped back on there would be tension on the pins and hold the panel much tighter.
I did this about 3 years ago, and it is still very solid with no rattles.

I broke a couple of the plastic tabs
but I'm hoping to replace those in the next few weeks.
