So all it takes to install a stereo system with amps, new speakers, new head unit with the proper crossovers is a screwdriver? I know who's g@y and its not me.

What snoopdan is getting at - is that if you know how to use a screwdriver, you have the mechanical ability to do an install.

Which is absolutely 100% true for any basic install.

NO, you would be the g@y one if you paid someone else to do this job on your car.

and just think of the satisfaction and feeling of accomplishment knowing that you did the work yourself and didn't have to pay someone else to do it for you.

I installed every mod on my car, and I know that NOBODY else would take as good care and perform the job as good as I did on MY car no matter how much they were paid!

so grab your screwdriver and DIG IN!

Look, I've installed simple systems with crutchfield kits and the like and its not that I'm useless with tools. I own my own construction company and have been building and remodelling for over 15 years. I just don't have an electrical command over amps, subs, wattages etc. I know enough that I want the Eclipse AVN 2454, and I want clean power and alot of it. I just find that end of it slightly daunting. For some odd reason that now makes me gay apparantly. I'm not gay (not that theres anything wrong with that) but just feel that I should involve someone a little more qualified to help me plan my dream system in my dream car. Suggestions, good. Name calling, bad.

Your post was gay, not you.

Posting a thread asking about an installer is more than useless in an audio forum. You might as well tear out a page of the phonebook car audio section and throw darts at it. Almost 100% of the subscribers here do their own work....and well, the people who pay some shop to do work, and then post it here, usually get smirked at. Anyone can pay a person to do something, that takes little effort and lots of cash - and the majority of people here work hard for their money and refuse to be jacked by a shop. Audio shops only tell you what you want to hear, and will sell you whatever junk they may be peddling with a big grin on their face.

Having construction skills, as you stated, would definately be a plus for tackling any install for yourself..You already know the logical portion of what you are doing. You just dont want to buy something that will not work out, and thats totally understanable. But we will NOT tell you what to do, but just suggest....and if you come up with a plan yourself an present it and ask for our interjection, we will help.

Do you understand now?

Alright snoopdan I'll make you a deal. You give me some suggestions on how you would properly accompany my Eclipse and I'll not only install it myself but will post pictures of me doing the install. I see you're a DJ, spin a few ideas to me.

If you want an installer that has won national and state trophies for hsi work and been featured in many magazines, try Sound Decisions in Montgomery IL. just south of Aurora. TX is 630-966-9696. They do every thing from Lambos to Hummers, New to classics and a number of Vettes. Ask for Alex if you call he is very much in the know there.
