I'm interested in adding a sub to my existing Bose system and the question I have is where.
I've got an 04 Vert and I've installed heavy duty Lloyds trunk mats and a partition. Adding the partition improved the stereo greatly but I like to still add a little punch from a sub. With the partition installed I'm concerned that putting a sub in the back would get blocked out.
Anyone have any ideas on a different location. I'm thinking about a single 8" or 10", not looking to beat up the neighborhood, just want to add some power at the low freq.
I've got a 10" sub in the center compartment where the CD changer used to sit. Obviously, the cover's off the compartment and the sub sits at a slight angle. The amp is mounted in that same space.
If you stay with the Bose headunit, you have to use a line level converther hooked to both of your rear speakers. This will turn your speaker wire into RCA's. Then, you run the RCA's to the amp. My amp has a low level and high level input switch, which let me adjust my amp's power output to match the voltage of my signal. A lot of amps dont have this switch, so your sub may not hit as hard without it. Either get an amp like a JL 500.1 which has this switch or some amps have a line level input, which would let you put the speaker wire straight into it. The JL is AWESOME!!
