I'm tired of listening to the stock cassette stereo (non Bose) in my "91" Vette and after many many hours searching in this forum and online, I've finally decided what I want to do.
For now I've decided to just improve the sound by replacing the front speakers and adding a 4 channel amp and either one 8" sub behind the stock rear panel or two 6x9 subs (if I can find them).
I plan on connecting the amp using the high level inputs to the Delco receiver then connect the front channels of the amp to a set of component speakers and bridge the rear channels to the subwoofer(s).
Here is a list of the system components I'm planning to use. Although sound Quality is very important to me, I'm trying to do this as cost effective as possible so, some compromises had to be made. (budget around $400)
Sounds like you've got the right ideas, I wouldn't buy from crutchfield though. They are good for looking at pictures and specs, but the items can be had much cheaper elsewhere.

Just lettin u know I persoanlly own a few profile amps and while they are not the nicest amps use will deff be happy with them. For the price you really can't go wrong unless you are some crazy audiophile or somethin you will never tell a sound quality difference
