Give him some dimensions to work with, though I currently have
a 12" stealth box on order for an Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 so
an 11" should fit fine unless its got some weird Dim's.

Usually what focal calls a 11" sub really has the dimensions closer to a normal 10" sub. It'll fit one of my boxes either way.

Hey Megabass, I saw in my Good Guys flyer this morning that Pioneer has a new 12 inch subwoofer that is only 4 inches deep. I want to go hear them and judge them for myself, but wow. Maybe with those, we could get by with smaller enclosures. By the way, what is the benefit of a ported box as to a sealed box?

Ive still never heard a review on this particular one, but heard of how its competiton in this catagory fares. There are alot of other companies that make similar shallow mount subwoofers such as :

Phase Linear
Lanzar
Earthquake
Blaupunkt
Acoustic Elegance
Dynaudio
Phoenix Gold
Altomobile
Eton

So you got way better choices than Pioneer. Only sub ive heard good things about was the Phase Linear Alantie. A google may be in your future

Here are some pics of the 10w7 box he built for me. Nice work and shipped quick. Local shops wanted about 2x more for the same box.

"Car Audio" magazine did a review on that sub a couple of months ago.
It had a good review, sounded great, but did not have the spl as a conventional sub has. Still, it is a great woofer if trying to squeak a sub box up front.

Pyro! What type of subwoofer do you have! I going to purchase a subthump box! But most speakers have a air space requirement, so I was just wonderinf what were the specs on your! I really wan an Isoberic 12 but may not get the air space with subthumps boxes!

The sub is a Kenwood KFCXW1002DVC....10 inch Dual 2 ohm voice coil 1000 watt.. carbon pp h. The air space in the subthump stealth box is dead on for this sub. It made a great install. I'm very impressed. Was at a function last night and some of my teenage kids ffriends were out in the parking lot and wanted to hear my system....... they thought I had two 12 inch subs...... it blew them away when they saw the single 10". Running a Kenwood KAC7252 1000 watt amp. The sub has a good clean, tight sound & it hits very hard.

Pyro!

If you do not mind canI replicate your System in my 98 C5! If it's not a [problem can you break down the items you have installed! I have a Kenwood head unit (KDC-X679) and Kenwoow Music Keg (710 series). I like your amp and your sub! I have looked everywhere on the net for the sub for sale but no luck! Where did you get your sub from! Alos, what the model numbers on your amps? Did you replace your mids and highs as well or can I use the facory bose! LEt me know what you have so I can just oreder them! It looks really well done and prefessional!

No problem.

All Kenwood system. You already have the info on the sub, I couldn't find it on the web either. New for 05.

My head unit is the KDCX589, you already have your HU.
Front & rear speaker Amp is KAC8452. 800 watt.
Sub amp is KAC7252 1000 watt.
Rear speakers are KACXR701 200 watt max. 6.5" 2 ways.
Front speakers are KFC-Xr 71p components with adj crossovers.
Installed the Xm commander in the ash tray area.

It has a great clean crisp sound. All 2005 stuff. I got it at a local hi fi shop, I know the installer, great guy with a great ear. He takes pride in his work.... I always tip him for taking care of my installs. I tell him to do it like it was his & I always like the results.

Pyro!

Why not hte 12 rather than the 10! Was it the Cubic feet requirement which I have yet to find on the net I really need to find the specs for the twelve, if I cannot I will order the 10. Where did you get your amp kit and how much was it! I think I better order fromthe website! Audio shops are charging an arm and a leg for them!

freeman..... I just liked how tight the bass was on the ten. The 12 was louder but it didn't sound as tight. I didn't even check on the 12's air space. The 10 was dead on for the stealth box.

I got all my stuff installed for around 1900.00 it was at the shops anual sale.

Good luck on yours, let me know.
