Default burning an mp3 disc questions

I have a Myron Davis DVD unit in my 99 C5. It plays mp3's so I made a disc and so far I can't get it to read it. I have Memorex CD-RW's and I'm using NERO to burn the mp3's to it. Any ideas? BTW, I made sure it was finalized and it had no effect.

My other thought would be perhaps trying a Cd-R format instead.

Any ideas on this? Also, do I just put all the songs on the disc as one lump, or divide them by folders based on the artist?

Thanks for any help.

Cd-R format is the key. CD-RW uses a different laser than CD-R and I'd suspect that's the problem.

Does your Cd player accept the cd that you burn, and at least just sit there and do nothing and count seconds away, or does it spit the cd out? There is a difference between how your cd player acts and whats wrong with your burned disc.

Your CD player should have no problems playing cheapie walmart brand 80 minute CDR's. Even my original bose from my 92 vert played them fine. And the cd's I use are so cheap, you can see thru them

What version of nero are you using? Not that it really matters - the new version isnt too much different than the old ones, except all the glitzy stuff that they added for VCD burning. Ive been a retard a few times, and thought I was burning an Audio Cd, and accidently made a data disc of mp3s, then put it in my car, and wondered why all the tracks played nothing but little clicks. Its easy to do if you're not paying attention. The cd player will still accept the cd, but play absolutly nothing, but still access the tracks you burned on there, so it seems that you're searching thru tracks.

If you are still having furthor problems with NERO, PM me and I'll get ya straight

Yep, it was the CD-RW screwing everything up. CD-R worked fine. I talked to some audio guys and they confirmed it too. FYI: CD-R for MP3 audio in the car!
