Okay, I just bought the amp and sub and was going to put them in the driver's side storage compartment bin. The sub suggests either a 0.65 cu. ft sealed enclosure or a 1.0 cu. ft. ported enclosure.
What is the major difference between a ported and sealed enclosure in terms of sound? And, if I use the 0.65 cu. ft. sealed enclosure, would the measurements be 1 ft. x 1 ft. x 7.8" deep?
I really should go out and measure the actual thing, but it's late at night and was just wondering if someone has done something similar.
****EDIT****
I plan to put the sub in the storage bin and the amp behind the passenger seat, not them both in the storage bin.

This is what my 10" Onyx sub looks like in my car, pic taken yesterday

Sealed is the way to go if you want a small enclosure that Typically takes alot of wattage. Vented enclosures are usually larger, but have lower end extention at higher volume. You pay into both types when considering power/driver specs/avaliable airspace. Mind you, this is a short and simple answer, and if you are really interested in getting technical, go CLICK HERE ...its pretty straight forward. If you want to get complicated, GO HERE .
Personally, I usually run sealed enclosures, most of the time I am limited on space. One of the things I like about sealed is that the bass is punchy and always clear. The downside to my preference is that it doesnt get nearly as loud as a vented enlosure.
Hope this helps!
