Default Best ipod adapter for C5?

Looking to put an Ipod adapter in my C5 with stock stereo, wondering which is the best model to use?

One of my concerns is that I've been told that I should get one that shuts the Ipod off when the ignition is turned off and will keep the settings such as last song played when it's turned back on so I don't have to reset everything each time. Are these two features possible with the kits out there?

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

This is what I'm using in my 04 C5 Z:

mp3yourcar

It's been working out very well for me the past 6 months or so.

And yes, it will power off your iPod if you turn off the ignition (or power off the factory head unit or switch from the iPod to CD or AM/FM). If you leave your iPod physically connected, the iPod will continue to draw power from the stereo system IF the iPod battery needs recharging (if the iPod is fully charged, no power draw); once the iPod battery is fully charged, it will not draw any more power and will display Fully Charged on the iPod display panel. I don't believe the power draw is that big; I've had my iPod connected for several days at a time and have yet to encounter the infamous C5 battery issue...yet!

If I'm listening to a particular song and I shut off the ignition, when I restart the car and power up the head unit, my iPod picks up where I last left it.

This setup has been worth every penny that I spent on it

i drove across the country when i picked up my vette and had the monster cable product and it got mediocre results at best so i would say that this definately is not the best adapter for our cars. i would suggest checking out the auxpod from pac-audio. you can control some basic functions of the ipod through your head unit.

Do you have the CD changer still connected - if so, how easy was it to install??

I close to making the iPod jump!

Scott,

No, my C5 did not come with the factory CD changer.

That's why I chose to go the iPod route instead...good luck!!
