Amp in storage bin overheat ??

Amp in storage bin overheat ??

Has anyone put a 400-600 watt amp in the passenger side storage bin of a C4 coupe ?

Would it be necessary to cut some small vents in the lid (w/grilles for aesthetics) to get some air circulating ?

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I've had a 600 watt amp (It's probably more like a 400 watt amp) in my passenger bin for about 2 weeks. I haven't had any problems.

I had an a/d/s 25x6 in the storage box with the ABS without trouble and just installed an Orion 225 HCCA int he same location and will know more later this year

I would monitor the amp, but modern amps run much cooler then they used to.

Personally, I like my amps out and available, if not for heat, but for access to tuning options.
