Seeking speaker opinions
Memphis
Eclipse
Diamond
The audio shop recommends using one brand throughout. My primary criteria is accuracy across the widest possible range of frequencies. I am not seeking big thumpin' bass with this decision, as I am sure the 10" sub I add later will be MORE than adequate for my needs.
Amp is soundstream 5 channel, rated 50x4 with a sub channel that outputs 400W @ 2 ohms, 200W @ 4 ohms. Soundstreams ratings are for a 12V system and they have a reputation for being underrated. One of the people I talked to was of the opinion that it outputs a very real 75x4 RMS
Shimmering highs, clear mids, and a full bottom end...
Opinions?

Of that list, Diamond is by far the best.

big in europe?

Im not enough of an audiophile to pay any BIG bucks, but im willing to go as high as the prices Ive been quoted on diamond.
6.5 memphis - 90$ per pair
6.5 diamond - 140$ per pair
with eclipse splitting the difference.
(actually those might be the 6x9 prices... but I think you get the picture)
If you told me that those brands were all crap and I should stay away, then I would listen, but my first system was a pair of polk 6.5 and a pair of infinity 6.5 hooked up to an eclipse head through a sherwood 75x2 amp. I was okay with this one except for the missing bottom end.
second system was 4 infinity 6.5s hooked up to a panasonic head (the cq9800, pretty nice head I figure) and a single 10" sub from a bridged 100x2 amp. This one doesn't do the highs and the mid lows very well, but it has adequate low thump for my needs.
that pretty clearly illustrates my level of understanding and the audio performance that I'm trying to beat.

Bought the CDT's for the front (will not use rears) and Alpine CDA-9853 CD/MP3/WMA receiver today. Still have to decide what amp, sub, box to get and whatever wiring I need.
I cant afford to spend 1000 on speakers, i was really hoping to spend 350 ish max for all three sets, so this brings up a question.
I can afford to get the CDT components at 1/2 price, but I wont be able to justify full price for the other 2 sets.
The audio shop recommends sticking with one brand throughout, why is this? would it be worth the extra 40 dollars to get the CDT 6.5s and mismatch them with diamond 4x6 and 6x9?
ALSO, I was gonna just get three coax pairs, whereas the CDT pair linked above is a component set, big advantage?

side note:
have you looked into jl audio's 3-way components? they are about $320 on ebay.
like, coax is a single circle or oval
component is 2 or 3 (4?) seperate circles
(pardon the technical terms pls :p)
The *DEFAULT* plan is to get one pair of diamond 4x6's for the dash, one pair of diamond 6.5"s for the doors, and one pair of diamond 6x9's for the rear. Later when I get some more money saved up I will add a 10" sub in a custom box.
The questions that I have now are:
Are component speakers substantially better than "coax"?
Does the advantage of a higher quality pair of 6.5"s in the doors outweigh the disadvantage of mismatching brands?
Hopefully I don't sound like too much of a dope, but I AM trying to get edumacated.
The speakers are essentially on the same plane.
I suggested the Cantons, but eBay is the only place to find the ones I would get. I have an OLD pair - from the mid 90s!!! - and they sound sooooo nice. RS3 separates... 6" mid-bass, 4" mid-range and 1" tweets... drool. I love these speakers. So smooth, so bright, so musical.
I have heard great things about CDT.
As for locations, I would check the C4 Audio FAQ...
