Default Experienced help needed

Help me decide. Do not want to be sorry. Keep in mind that I do not want to rattle the neighbors or anyones windows. Just want good quality all around sound with some bass kick.

What I have ordered:

Alpine CDA-9853
CDT Audio CL-61A 6.5 X2 No rears will be used.

Since the head unit has the "amp link" I am thinking that it would be better to get an amp that can be controlled by it? less wiring? less money?

Thinking of ordering the Alpine MRD-M301 amp and the SWR-1041D type R mono sub.

want everything to fit under the center rear cover of my coupe (amp and sub). Will probably order a box from subthump.

Feedback PLEASE!

can't say much about it but my audio shop doesn't feel that a HU can properly drive a component set.
a 50x4 amp will sound much better than just a 50x4 HU

You should use an amp on the seperates and an amp on the subs. You can get away though with use a strong 4 channel amp. Wire two channels to the fronts and mono the rear channels to the sub. Sorry but unless you a 8" driver you are not going to fit sub and amp in the well. Not to mention you do not want to cover the amp in that tight of space because there will be no place for the heat to go. That will lead to the amp shutting off alot on you and premature failure. Alot of people make small amp racks covered with a factory carpet to give it a stock/stealth apperance.

The equipment that you are looking is good stuff. I recommend you try and play with the source unit somewhere and listen to the speakers before you purchase....that is if you have not already. Also you do not have to purchase an Alpine amp. That radio will work just fine with any amplifier.

with both of the above.
A HU might say 50 watts per channel but is more like 18 watts per channel at the correct specs.

What do you guys think of these components (AMP and Sub) to go with the Alpine 9853 and CDT's (x2)?

What scares me about ED's amp specs is their wattage rating. Why do they not list freq response, voltage, and THD? Make me wonder

Budget? I really do not have one but unfortunatly my wife does (0.00) She just does not get it.. I'm comfortable with between 300.00 - 500.00 for the amp/sub.

Thanks guys for any and all feedback. I know that opinions differ but figured if I get several I'll average and make a better decission.

that is impedance of the voice coil. it gives you more flexibility when you are hooking up multiple subs. how this affects you is that you have to make sure that your amp can handle the sub's impedance. most amplifiers on the market can handle 4 ohm subs when bridged so that would actually require you to purchase the dual 2 ohm voice coil and wire them in series (take the poss lead from one voice coil and connect it to the neg lead on the other voice coil. then hook the amp up to the two remaining leads) that will give you a final impedance of 4 ohms

here is some more info on that:
